About this register

What the register is

The Maternity Register is an independent publication about reflexology in pregnancy, kept for London. It is not a practice, it does not take bookings, and it does not sell sessions, gift vouchers or courses. It keeps dated, numbered entries on four questions: what the practice involves, what the evidence does and does not say, how to choose a practitioner, and what women ask across the nine months.

What this address used to be

This domain previously carried the site of a London reflexology practice working in maternity care, visible in Internet Archive captures from about 2009 to 2013, and later passed through parked and generic rebuilds before lapsing. The register is not that practice, is not connected to its former practitioner, and does not claim her clients, her book or her name. The entry "A quiet London practice, read in the archive" states what the record shows and stops where the record stops.

Who keeps it

Entries are kept by H. Marlowe, keeper of the register, and read before shelving by J. Whitfield, reviewing editor. Photographs are the register's own. The working rule is printed on the home page and repeated here: where the evidence is thin the register says so, and where a question belongs to a midwife or a GP the entry points there first. Nothing published here is a substitute for antenatal care, and no entry will ever suggest otherwise.

What the register does not do

It does not diagnose, prescribe or treat. It does not recommend a named practitioner, because recommending named individuals is a different responsibility than explaining how to check them. It does not run advertising, sponsored entries or affiliate booking links. And it does not pretend to neutrality it has not earned: every entry is dated, its sources are listed on the page, and corrections are made in the open, with the struck line left visible.
